Approving or rejecting time off requests
You will be notified by email whenever a user submits a time-off request and you are a Level 1 Timesheet Approver for the resource. If you are a Level 2 or Level 3 Timesheet Approver for a user, you will be notified after all lower-level approvals have been received.
If your company has multiple approvers for the same resource at the same level of approval, and another approver at your level has already approved/rejected the time off request, you will be notified by email and it will be removed from your Waiting My Approval list.
The Timesheets > Waiting My Approval - Time Off Requests page provides access to time off requests submitted to you that you have not yet approved. This page can also be accessed from the Options sub-menu on your Time Summary page.
The notification email contains all the information necessary to make a decision about the time off request.
NOTE A convenient way to view who is out of office is to place the Out of Office widget on one of your dashboards. Refer to Out of office.
NOTE When a time off request is approved or rejected, Autotask will automatically send a notification email to the user.
How to...
- To open the page, use the path(s) in the Security and navigation section above.
- Check the check boxes to the left of all requests you would like to approve.
- Right-click and select Approve Selected Time Off Requests.
IMPORTANT Approval of time off requests cannot be rescinded! The only person who can cancel an approved vacation request is the user who requested it.

- Check the check boxes to the left of all requests you would like to reject.
- Right-click and select Reject Selected Time Off Requests.
- Enter the Reason for the Time Off Rejection in the text box.
- Click Send.
